Nice Choice
I really think Seiko did a great job with the 55th Anniversary collection of watches. I own the SLA039 and appreciate the fact that I waited and these were introduced with the EverBright Steel. It looks amazing, it really does and seems superior in every way to the DiaShield coating on modern Seiko medium and higher end models. The overall case finishing also gets high marks too.
The 8 series movements seem very nice durable and reasonably accurate (I have 2), though it wouldn’t hurt for Seiko to start taking more care in regulating and adjusting these to higher set standards. At this price point, especially being Seiko branded, it makes sense.
