Subtle changes to the Seiko logo on Grand Seikos...
Hi all -

I was shooting one of my newly arrived Grand Seiko's recently when I noticed that the Seiko logo on the dial looked different to that on another watch that I had shot recently.
This morning I thought it would be interesting to have a look at how the logo has changed over time.
Top row -
6145-8000 from 1969; 4520-8000 from 1970
Middle row -
5646-7005 from 1971; 5646-7010 from 1973
Bottom row -
SBGR027 (not entirely sure what year this watch was released?); SBGA129 from 2015
What I found particularly interesting is the way the K and O are joined together on the vintage pieces. Note how the 5646 is distinctly different from both the earlier and later vintage pieces.
Kind regards,
Gerald.
