I'm not sure if this pair has it, but if you ever go into a John Lobb store, notice the curved area on the bottom of some of the shoes, it is just in front of the heel but before the rest of the sole (in the middle), that curvature is much harder to make but it implies a much sturdier construction. These are John Lobb's higher end shoe that is almost equivalent to their custom line.

John Lobb truly makes a shoe that will last you the rest of your life. When the sole is worn out, send the shoe back to John Lobb where they will recondition it and it will practically look like new.

Absolutely the best shoe in the world. They're a bit heavy, but that's only a sign of the quality within. John Lobbs are an investment that is truly not for the light-hearted fashion/fad person. They're for a person who buys something and keeps it till the end. It's no surprise that John Lobb is actually partnered with Hermes; I consider Hermes to be the best mass produced luxury accessory goods company period.

I hope to own a pair of John Lobbs someday, but as of the moment, I've got my Ferragamos to keep me entertained until then.
