Picking up on your spider image, Filip, where I grew up we had a lot of orb weavers in the garden. These spiders would build a large web every evening, usually between bushes, and sit in the middle waiting for prey to stumble in.
One night around dusk I was riding back up our driveway on my bike and one particularly large orb weaver had strung a web between our house and the side fence. I saw it at the last minute and dropped my bike, sliding under the web. When I picked myself up and looked back, I had demolished half the web and the spider was still there, dangling from one leg. I’m glad he had a good grip, because otherwise he would have been in the middle of my face!
I like spiders at a distance, but that memory still gives me the shivers.
