I am almost the same..
... I used to play the piano, accoustic guitar and drums. I was said to be gifted but stopped playing as late teenager, whereas my brother continoued and are playing at concerts (as still amateur, playing electrical guitar, Fender Stratocaster, Gibson Les Pouls etc) as the main name. This after 8-10 genearation of partly professionel or very gifted amateurs, I am the black sheep in the family :-(
Thats why I now want to play the floor bass. Though, I am probably too late to ever be good. Lets see.
But its difficult to take the floor bass into the shower while singing.. have to work on that

As long as you practice at your own pace, and...
