Yesterday when I walked in my neighborhood, not even in the center, I saw a pair of shoes in the window of a fashion boutique, that also happen to sell a few shoes. It's a nice boutique that sells brands like Brioni, Kiton, Scabal, Boglioli, Italo Ferrett...  

bought these the last couple of weeks/months Considered as the Patek among the shoes ;-) John Lobb. I'm not a conaisseur of shoes so maybe this will sound stupid but imoe they are NOT worth the price the ask. They are ofcourse great shoes but I've bought ...  

but I do like your John Lobbs a lot. I general I like the way Santoni shoes are made, just find the noses too narrow at the moment. I rather have a more classic nose, bit rounder. Thanks for the pics, your collection looks very good. GEO

That's a nice collection of shoes Bruno. Lobb shoes are slightly better constructed than C&J, for example the bevelling and finishing of the sole. Lobb also uses slightly finer leather with better antiquing (the variegated colour of the leather). That bei... 

you're probably right that Lobb uses better leather and the 'finishing' is about the best you can get. But like said I'm not a shoe WIS and therefore I barely see these differences. The only thing I feel is the way they fit my feet ;-) and those Crockett ...

your quite right KT, long day, tired, brain in neutral, my error. i was taught all bout it at school and often see it on TV, but still get it wrong. Northampton is indeed the shoe capital of the UK and at one time the world. best Graham

Interesting to hear the story behind the brand, so in fact England is quite a shoemarket, I now learn. Never thought about that. The shop stocks Kiton as a brand as well, but not the shoes. GEO

thats an idea Mike, but i doubt many would want used shoes. its not something i would normally buy, but these were a different proposition in different times. UK size 9, EU size 43 whatever that is in US sizing. best G

The leather combination makes this a stand out pair. Trickers are an awesome brand, although they are more known for the chunky and very round full brogue oxfords. These are casually elegant and will work well with jeans, casual pants and informal work we...

Our winters are so mild. These shoes are not made for ice and snow like we know from Canada. I live most of the time in the south part of Europe, where it never really gets that cold. GEO
