I remember vividly many years ago when I started my fountain pen collection I was of course (like most pen lovers) strongly attracted by Montblanc Limited Editions and could not resist the beauty of some specific ones such as the famous Hemingway, Agatha ...  

…as for me the hand-engraved sterling silver barrel on these two pens is also a capstone Actually there is not only one or two but plenty of reasons why I love these two 😉

Beautiful nibs - the one on the marcel Proust with its hourglass is rather amazing. So many commonalities with the high end horology… And of. course, being a big friend of VC, the Mercator and its double retrograde function 🥰 Thanks for sharing, Jerome ...

The are the "JET SET" cufflinks by Roland Iten. I have a pair and they are my favorite cufflinks. Here's a photo of the Qatar edition. They look like an airplane engine! I sported a pair of the JET SET by Roland Iten cufflinks at the front row of the GPHG...

I knew about a few other brands offering some models with such a heart-shaped hole (Pelikan, Montegrappa, Sheaffer., Platinum...) but I didn't know about other MB ones. Google is telling me about the Louis XVI Patron of Art LE having this feature. Do you ...

But too late now. I do have a Proust and an Agatha, however. The latter is my favorite -- a beautiful but also practical design. The Proust is stunning but I like to post my caps simply and the Proust's screws on. And then there's the Hemingway. Another g... 

But it's never too late. With internet now it's so easy to always find even sought after pieces whether through dealers, collectors, fora, or auctions. Years ago it was almost impossible to find a specific piece if you didn't catch the train when it was l... 

It's just hard to pull the trigger for an old guy who remembers what these sold for years ago, though the Medici was pretty expensive at the time -- was it $1,100 new? Of course, relative to watches (e.g., a Rolex 1016 or 5513), a pre-owned Medici or Hemi... 

And exactly as you say compared with watches you can buy fantastic pens for a relatively affordable price

Yes it is a true passion also. My collection is composed of some targetted MB LE or vintage ones, some vintage pens which I particularly appreciate (Waterman 52, Parker 21, Mabie Todd Swan, Wahl-Eversharp...), and of course several Namiki pens.

... which I now love, after the nib was adjusted. So much in the fountain pen experience relates to how the nib performs, and each has its own personality. Many need a little attention from a skilled nibmeister, as you know. While on the subject of nibs, ...
