Turned 91 years old a couple of days ago. The only person who managed to create and define genuine style in the 20th century in my opinion. I recall him stating once that he didn't consider himself a designer, but simply a businessperson who sold clothes....

technically, his ideas one is most true to me. But all of them really hit the mark pretty well!

hands down favorite designer. Polo/Ralph Lauren was very nice but Armani was one of those things that if you know, you know.

When it comes to Lauren, I somehow always perceived his women's lines as more appealing than his menswear designs. They were mostly too preppy for my taste....

I don’t necessarily see them as comparing apples to apples, but they both have had immense effects on fashion throughout the years.

I simply preferred Armani for his softer, more minimalist and 'unstructured' lines. The mainstream lines from Lauren were too preppy for my taste, but as you and CdM pointed out above, he certainly had/has the more specialized 'high-end' offerings to diff... 

So elegant and relaxed style, without any unnecessary noisy detalis. Is he wearing the Raiomir on a nato? Thanks for posting.

And varying levels of finishing there are many very fine bespoke made to measure tailoring ateliers worldwide and then the Big Brands Brioni, Zegna, Kiton, Corneliani etc. I am sure the parallels with our watch hobby is self evident 😄😋 Big Fashion Brands ...

Unfortunately, Giorgio did not come out at the end of either of his two recent shows: menswear Spring/Summer (which was kinda meh) and prive (which is very Chanel-ish and fantastic). I am worried for him.

But, I guess, when you get to 91, every single day is a blessing in and of itself. He's certainly lived a long, fulfilling life irrespective of how much time he has left.... 🙏🙂‍↕️
