Surprised that the lens doesn't work well
I take a lot of pix professionally with my ancient D70, but am looking to upgrade soon. Still takes great photos and has been a real workhorse.
The D700 might be overkill for my uses and wonder how much real-world difference there is between that and a D7000 (except for the $1000 difference)?

that you take your camera and lens to the Nikon Showroom and Service Center, there's one around the Ginza area. Upstairs is where they do the servicing and they can check things out for you. FYI, your D700 has a Micro AF Adjustment capabilities. Have you ...

Thanks. Yes, I have tried all the tricks. Most work fine with AF fine adjustment, but a few don't. I have tried the service center with three different examples of the same model with the body, and essentially they told me to give up as the lens is an old...

With ample light in day time, very generally speaking, there wouldn't be much change. The difference with the body is the low-light sensitivity. Suppose you are to take photos in the party or barbecue after dark, or concert. You would be a lot more fortun...
