when first we practice to deceive (said Sir Walter Scott in 1806 Scotland) I went for a walk alone today as my wife had gone to a luncheon, and as I am inclined to do ... I got distracted and spent most of the time peering into hedges and inspecting spide...  

I honestly thought that spiders only make those beautiful, radial webs (except for ground spiders, etc). I’m fascinated by these seemingly random, tangled webs; or those first broken-looking webs. They aren’t as “pretty” as the radial webs, but they look ...
