I read that Cubitus was the name of a french cartoon, in the 80's, a big white flegmatic dog, kind of Snoopy. (Taken from another internet forum, just couldn’t help posting here for another angle….) ...  

I had all the Cubitus (Dommel in Flemish) comic books. Cubitus appeared weekly in the Tinitin magazine, I think the humour was a level above (or very different) to that of Snoopy. Filip ...

I've been saying CUBE-hi-tus. And apparently others have been saying it CUBE-it-us. The way I say it sounds worse.

After all it’s his child and only he can give its name a proper pronunciation…
