For instance, I don't like the buzzing sound of the PAM or Vulcan watches that I've heard. I've heard the Blancpain L'evolution alarm GMT and it sounds alright, but I preferred the sound of the JLC EWA, and purchased one. The EWA's alarm sound is very similar to a miniture school bell sound, and I find that sound very pleasant and it is loud enough to wake you up, but apparently not as loud as other JLC alarm watches. I've also heard the Sonata alarm and it is a very pleasant sound similar to a minute repeater, but I don't think it is loud enough to wake you. Maybe to just remind you of appointments during the day as you wear it. Bottom line, since I think the alarm sound is somewhat subjective you must listen to the watch's alarm before you decide on which one to purchase. One other thing is the accuracy of setting the watch. I found the JLC EWA most accurate at an accuracy of under 5 minutes of what time you wish to set it at.
