BUT, if it is only the bar ( between the lugs ) which is broken, it will not be a too serious problem.

According to the watch serial number you have provided, it is a Maxi Marine Chronometer 41 mm, and not an 1846. The tube you refer to is screwed into the lug on one side to hold the tube in place, and to complete the look a srcew is used on the other side...
