I agree with the others. I unwind the watch counter clockwise and wind it clockwise when the crown is in position C (which is the one for winding). However, I recall from the sales rep at the jewelry store, where I bought the watch, that 40 full winds are needed to fully wind the watch. I guess the manual states 30 so that you don't overwind it.
