I have a “grail” collection that I am working towards and the Freak has always been on that list. When the Freak Out was unveiled, I was very happy as it is a true Freak but was much more attainable cost-wise. It replaced the Freak Cruiser or other precio... 

For me, I would rather take (much) longer to attain a Freak Out than “settle” with a Freak X. One day......... BW, Chi Kai

You do know me as a Freak fan. I replied some more thoughts below, I'm afraid I don't look at this new collection as a real Freak. Freak DNA, yes, I can see that. And this Ice model is a very appealing scheme for me. But sadly it will never have the charm... 

The bezel winding is certainly a crucial part of the DNA. Without it it’s only half a Freak ;-))

A special piece 🍻

There is a huge difference between Freak X Ice and Freak next for exemple. For people who can't afford the Next and appreciate the Freak design (Like me), X Ice still a very good option.

I have never been interested in the original freak (mainly size and material), but this freak x with the balance and escapement on dial is very appealing to me in 42mm and Ti (blue)

But probably not meant to. I'm a little older than the target demographic, no doubt 🙂 M4

When I consider having "Freak" attached to them, that is where I have a disconnect. The original Freak was touted as a watch without dial or crown. These newer models surely have a crown, and seemingly a dial. I should not be hung up on the name. Your cou... 

I can looking at the watches without any boring feeling. Normally i prefer classic looking watches without bla bla.

No wish, but a kind of watch to have if you spotted it with reduction.

It reminds me on the time we used a vet who bread standard poodles. He truly loved and admired that breed and held the standards with the highest regards. Our neighbor had recently purchased a Labradoodle, and I casually mentioned that in passing. Boy, do... 

...  

It's ok and all but it reduces the Freak to just another "nice watch". Maybe they should have not called it Freak. Just not as Freaky :p
