Hi Andre....
I think the seller is reading the numbers off of the tag tied on the
buckle when the watch is displayed at the dealer's shop, which is a
different numbering system than the reference numbering of a watch.
Does the seller have the papers, which might have the referenece
number? Or perhaps it is engraved on the case back. Make sure you have
an inspection period to return the watch if you are not satisfied.

The seller says VC has used two types of references for that watch one is an "old" one the other a more recent one; there is no difference. My first thought was exactly what you say (internal stock number or something like that) but it seems it is not the...
