Clearly the 222 makes us react.
For me, it was not a ‘love at first sight’ moment. Not even love at second sight. I was impressed with the weight and many of the details and the finishing but it is not a watch I would fight for.
That honor would - for me - go to another Vacheron, the 1921.
The fun of seeing/touchimg the 222 was more that of seeing one of those watches you would normally not get to see. It looked good in the articles released around its introduction but seeing it in the metal, I was impressed by the quality and the details captured in the photos.
I have always seen the 222 as the one that did not quite make it. It’s there in the background while the Nautilus, the Royal Oak and now the Overseas prance in the spotlight.
Anyway, thank you for your reactions and observations. Always a pleasure to share things with this group.
