Vacheron Constantin as a brand floundered a bit in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. As they were owned by various investors and were pummeled by the lack of clear vision and the whole industry was decimated by the quartz crisis. However, in the past decade or so,... 

Although I would rate Lange a bit higher. And I would add F P Journe to the list...
