Vacheron Constantin Historiques Ultra-fine 1955 - How thin is it ?
As pointed out by a good friend in my previous review of the Vacheron Constantin Historiques Ultra-fine 1955 I didn't capture how "fine" or thin this watch is.
Wearing this watch during the holidays reminded me to post some photos that might show how thin really is:
Here we have a comparison with a 20 rappen (20 swiss cents)
I have noticed that Vacheron uses this coin in their marketing material to show how thin the movement is. Let's compare it with the whole watch:
With the case it becomes slightly thicker than the coin but perhaps not by much
Let's try with a bigger coin: 2 Swiss Francs
Here the watch seems to be thinner
or perhaps not
It is still incredibly thin and a true pleasure to wear. It still feels sufficiently substantial and I love the black alligator strap with no stitches. It fits the watch perfectly.
The 4N lighter shade of rose gold is also very retro looking (almost like yellow gold) setting it apart from other rose gold models that are typically in the richer 5N shade
I hope that you enjoyed this short add-on to my previous review. I am enjoying the watch very much and wearing it daily now (in the first days I was trying to keep it as pristine as possible but heh...the best way to enjoy and honour a watch is to wear it).
I wish you some pleasant holidays and an exciting and happy new year 2016.
Here a last photo to show the watch in action in my daily business
