And by then I will be in my 70s…. But I will certainly get him or hand over an attractive entry level luxury watch for his young adulthood, if he does well in school and wants one. I’m not yet sure of how to go about this…. 🍻

My Dad loved watches but he owned only two. He was specially fond of Rolex brand and he instilled me that love for the brand since I was a lad. I remember being with him in February 1966 when he bought his first Rolex, a Datejust at an AD in Miami, Fl. Ca...  

This was his daily wearer for I’m guessing 20-something years. The watch eventually broke and was replaced by a gold tone Seiko S2 quartz. The watch was languishing at my dad’s house when we spotted it while going through some papers and other stuff. Dad ...

I initially had the watch brought to running order by RGM in Pennsylvania. I think they did a great job — the dial was cleaned up just a bit and the watch ran and still runs about +5 secs a day. Thanks for commenting.

... after certain John Buckley owner of a watch shop who sold many of these so equipped dials. These dials were not very popular in the 1980´s but for some reason have caught some interest among Rolex DJ collectors nowadays. Interesting to know your cousi...

Here another Buckley in my collection. This time a Oyster Quartz Datejust. Buckley dials are those with painted Roman numerals not applied with minutes tracks. I feel they are very elegant and classic. Cheers! Abel ...

So here goes. The main piece I got from my dad - or at least the one that I will always cherish most - is the graduation Breitling Aerospace. As for a watch I might give him it could be the Landmaster. He has gotten quite some over the years, mostly space...
