I agree on the first point completely
Although it doesn't happen often to me as I don't usually buy without first getting a good feel of a watch. If I have any doubts at the point of purchase, I tend to postpone the decision, just because I want to be absolutely sure. As for the second point, I've not come to a point where I have a greater love for a piece outside my watch box, only because those "desires" are usually out of the budget range and they get postponed again
