For me, I have never sold a watch in 20 years of collecting. And then I discover this forum at the beginning of the year. And it is a direct result of this community that my desires have been fueled to the max. So now I have an extensive wish list, starti...

But an opportunity that is too good to be missed has popped up (an enamel Europe dialed Mercator) and the 5251 will partially fund it. Once I am working again (took a year off) I am sure I may search out another 5251, but this time an open back so I can m...

I decided to take a hypothetical approach, and this IWC came to be the only one I was probably more willing to let go, and only because I think that my tastes and preference for watches are now set to 42mm as the largest. And while this is larger than tha...  

It happens. I never acquired a watch not thinking in wear it but ... As the time goes, we (I believe that's universal) wear it less and less, for one reason or another. I know several watches that are true wonders on pictures but a true torture instrument... 

Although it doesn't happen often to me as I don't usually buy without first getting a good feel of a watch. If I have any doubts at the point of purchase, I tend to postpone the decision, just because I want to be absolutely sure. As for the second point,... 

I suppose,it really boils down to what one intends to do with its collection…. Some enjoy the thrill of the chase and then let go with the same lighthearted attitude…others,ponder more and rarely dispose of their watches… I tend to belong more to the latt...  

I should have skipped down to the disclaimer first!! The AP skeletal perpetual and ultra rare UN Sonata Silicium will never leave you, I'm quite certain ;-)

They are the pillars of my collection…….. together with all the other brothers… I am in search of my next AP though… Mo

Its presence is very strong i grant you,but nevertheless its comfortable to wear and gives a nice feeling of gravity and solidity. Even if it was a tad more uncomfortable,I would not notice it as the watch has so much charm and allure. It fits greatly bef... 

I would not own a Sonata with different hands. Surely that is one of the major sticking points for me in trying to warm to the newer Streamline Sonata. I sure hope to acquire one, some day!

Condensing the watch set, using the funds to get a smaller but much more significative, to me, group of watches. I understand that any hobby goes to phases or cycles (accumulation then purification) as we really identify our tastes, define our limits and ... 

Obviously we both are in phase II of horomania (condensation) after phase I (accumulation) - is there a phase III as well? Kind regards anaesdoc
