Two divers I always wanted. UN Marine Perpetual ltd which I kept passing on because it was expensive. Eventually none were left from an AD but while in Vegas I ran across one that

came out of the safe because the person who had it on hold never came to pick it up. Still out of reach for me until my lady (later to be "wife") said why don't you give them a down payment and take out a 2nd on your home!

I used to give friends at work grief for doing that to buy a hot car and now I was going to do it to buy a watch! Seemed crazy but I had to do it as it was likely the last chance at a new one. I got a break on the price, paiddown the loan quickly, was able to write off interest and have no idea what I actually paid for it. More than they're trading for now but  as Clark Gable (who played Rhett Butler) famously said..."frankly Scarlet I don't give a damn"! The other diver I always wanted was a Fifty Fathoms but was never sure which one to get. Also my size preference had shrunk and they are big. Looked at the smaller ltd editions but found them to be too busy or with a feature I was starting to not like. A date. Then I saw the Hodinkee. Again I waited too long to get a new one from an AD but eventually found a mint one still under warranty. I know what I paid for this one. More than list but less than what people were asking for ones that were not as nice.
