Two more favorite films…
An American in Paris from 1951 won 6 Oscars.
With music from George Gershwin Masterpiece with same title and the dancing scenes by Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron directed by Vincent Minnelli this is a film I love so much.

My own pictures may be titled: A South American in Paris! Lol!
My Breguet Type XX was bought during a visit to Paris in 2011…

And my JLC Reverso with the iconic view behind…
The last film (from a long list of Oscar’s winning films I love) which I wish to play with this weekend is …
Platoon, from 1986 winner of 4 Oscars in 1987. Directed by Oliver Stone and main actors Willem Dafoe, Charlie Sheen and Tom Berenger the film depicts a Vietnam War drama too.
And my film related shots…
Again my Seiko 6105 is shown with a Randall Made Knife model 14 and a 1911 A1 .45 ACP pistol US Government markings made by Remington Rand during WW2 which was US Army issued to Vietnam soldiers also. Both knife and pistol were popular among American soldiers during the Vietnam conflict years.
Last but not least…
You asked about the watch worn during this weekend and I choose this early (1961) Rolex GMT ref 1675 (Cornino crown guards, rail track, gilt/gloss, admiration dot) honoring the watch worn by Marlon Brando in Apocalypse Now film. Brando’s watch in the film lacks its bezel but I didn’t dare to take off the beautifully faded to fuchsia bezel of my watch! lol!
Thank you again dear Art for your hosting and great Theme!!
Have a nice and relaxed weekend my dear Art and all friends here!
