I was at the boutique in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago...

...they had a few pieces to try on, but nothing in the Odysseus line...not even 'fakes.' It doesn't matter to Lange as they will sell to others even if I ordered one...frustrating...
A friend sold many rare Langes because he got tired of playing the games...

...I don't have his resources and cannot buy 2 or 3 watches just to get the one I want... Btw, Nash at the boutique is a nice guy and very knowledgable...
I don't feel like they play games, not more at least, and in many cases less than other brands. My 1st Lange was a L1 Moonphase. When I purchased it, that's when they informed me that the L1 MP was a companion piece to the Odysseus. I didn't even know that but I loved the WG Odysseus and so I said yes, to get me an allocation. I was pretty much guaranteed and allocation right there and then, they confirmed within a week, and all I had to do was wait. They said 18-24 months, I ended up getting it in 15. I think that's a fair process. No waitlists, just an allocation and guarantee you get one provided you get a companion piece, which my L1 MP was, unbeknownst to me.
...is a Cayenne a companion piece to a 911? My friend had multiple 'heavy hitter' Langes and they still asked him to buy pieces he clearly did not want just to get a 'chance' to buy what he did want. Hence his disillusion and divesting himself of many of those pieces. He is considering another Lange because it fills a hole in his collection and he likes it, but he won't buy a companion piece to get it...
