(before you die, not after). The auction listing says:

This 1974 Cadillac Fleetwood Talisman Brougham is a 60,967 actual mile example from new. The car retains its original Cotillion White paint, blue interior and full white padded vinyl roof. It features a 472ci V8 engine and automatic transmission. The Talisman package option features four-place seating in Medici crushed velour, full length center consoles with writing set in front and rear vanity, seat back pockets, reclining passenger seat, special Turbine wheel covers, assist straps, deep pile carpeting and stand up hood ornament. Standard and optional equipment includes power dual comfort seats, power windows, power door locks, tilt/telescoping steering column, cruise control, automatic climate control, remote trunk release, power steering, power brakes, AM/FM radio with integrated 8-track player and seldom-seen matching deluxe pillow and bathrobe.

Wouldn't that be great protection for your best watch when you want to go out on the town? Wrapped in your Medici crushed velour robe, head resting on the pillow, taking notes about important things in your mind, having a drink from the rear seat locker, etc. Who needs Full Self Driving when you have a chauffeur or a car like this? (No valet parking please!)

Just needs a long stretch of smooth fresh asphalt.

"Long Stretch"

Yes, that's the correct terminology. Long driveway and garage too!

Superb description!

It's clean (especially not even fingerprints)

Two generations were conceived in that car...

...and there must have been a bench seat option : )

In regards to style or performance I much prefer my dad's '62 Coupe de Ville. Then again, his Caddy didn't have that pinky finger diameter strut brace. ;-)

Like this but pop's car was cream white. A classy floater if there ever was one.

That's better!

I had a variant of cazalea's Caddy, but in maroon with 'leather' interior and the 8.2 litre/500 cubic inch engine. A GREAT car. I miss it even now.

 By: kjkt3 : April 15th, 2024-09:16

Closest I came to this was a white Riviera convertible with red leather

 By: cazalea : April 15th, 2024-15:55

I miss it too. But wait! There was also the Chrysler Imperial Crown Coupe, 19 foot long 2-door black & white with white leather

Sigh …

A land yacht to be sure.

In my experience, very user-friendly. Very powerful, really comfortable, excellent power-steering, very efficient air-conditioning, easy to maintain and a joy to drive.

Cotillion white paint and Medici crushed velour…

What’s not to love!?

The interior looks like the back room lounge at a sleazy strip club.

LOL. Good image!

You are bringing me down memory lane. My dad had one of those. It was so big you almost had to make an appointment to find a parking space.I’m

I was told it was easy to drive

If you have a rear-end accident, you deny it, saying "The front of the car was in the next county, I can't be responsible for what happens to the back end..."

Brings back MANY memories... Drove A Caddy....

Mom had the 72 Caddie land yacht and while it didn't float like a modern Bentley / Rolls, it did 'whaff about' gently and smoothly. Lots of weight, you really feel it, and plenty of room for eight underage teenagers. Was the first car i ever drove 'often', when my parents were sleeping and so i 'borrowed' it. On the plus side, once you learn to parallel park the Caddy, everything else is easy.

The 8-track wasn't too bad and AM/FM radio worked well enough.

My first car was a white Oldsmobile, maybe that's why I like this

 By: cazalea : April 15th, 2024-19:16
Like this:

I can't remember the interior but it was probably a mix of fabric and vinyl

I also had an Olds Touring Sedan, dark blue with dark blue leather that was pretty sweet

Not velour though

Love it!
