What is the opinion on 5022J?
An opportunity has come up to purchase one (2001). Reasonable condition, box, papers and serviced by PP one year ago. Good price too. Just not sure about it given the age of the watch. Any opinion on this particular model?
It's a beautiful watch but small...
33.3mm. It is very thin though at 6.75mm. The other downside (imho) is the 215 movement. It seems that it is (still, I believe) PP's catch-all movement they put in a lot of watches.
If it was a good price and I had a small wrist I might be tempted, but I would prefer the 240 movement until PP decides to make a new manual to fit modern sizes (38-40mm).

This is a lovely watch
with Breguet hands and Breguet numerals. I have owned the 5022R and 5022G. The size to me is great because I have a small wrist. The 215 movement is also great as it is a proven and generally reliable workhorse. The movement is small but the case back is solid so it is irrelevant. You can see the same movement being drowned in the 36mm case of the 5119. My only qualm with the 5022 and the reason why I sold both the models I owned was because I felt the dial was too white. A silver dial would have in my opinion made the watch look a lot better. For me, this watch is excellent value for money and you will be happy with it. Please do not be too concerned over its age especially if it was only recently serviced by Patek. Pateks are made very well and a well looked after Patek will last for many decades.

I think this is a greatvwatch. The 5022 is (by today’s standards) too small for my wrist. I still think it’s an excellent watch and I will get one eventually. My favorite configuration of the 5022 is in rose gold with a rose dial.
Out of curiousity
does your favourite configuration come with Breguet hands and numerals because I feel this is the essence of the 5022? And I agree, it is a great watch

5022 Price
5022 is a great size for my wrist. And that beautiful Breguet hands and numerals. Can you share the price you were offered? My local dealer has a white gold version in stock and I am still negotiating pricing with him.
£7750 Sterling GB. I think it can be negotiated even further.
