Anton Bruckner is one of my favorite composer.
The Adagio of the 8th leaves me completely speechless each time I listen to it. It’s cosmic. But there’s something fantastic in each of his symphonies, imo.
Big year for him, quattro.

I'd love to hear Petrenko conduct the 5th. Heard him in Berlin conducting Mozart's Exsultate Jubilate & Schumann's 4th in April 2023 and it was truly mesmerising.
My favorite recording of the 5th remains Jochum's 1964 concert in Ottobeuren with the Concertgebouw.

I went to Berlin in September and listened the Bruckner 5th symphony twice, BPO conducted by Petrenko. It was an incredible performance.

Petrenko is a great conductor, who is apparently loved by the orchestra and by the Berlin audience.
I was refused permission to take a photo, but I'll upload one someday. It's a leaf hand model. A G with a black dial. It was very expensive. 50 million yen in Japanese yen. But it had a surprising charm.

I enjoy doing these posts: it’s a way for me to learn more about Patek Philippe and to see if there’s a model which I’d really want to add to my collection someday.
I’ve never seen a 5070 in real life and have a really hard time finding a winner. As I’m a colored gold guy, I think I would probably choose the Saatchi yellow gold brown dial. I like the fact that the color scheme is very close to skin tone. But I would maybe feel very differently in real life as many of the other variants look great too.

Skin tone is an important consideration ! In terms of dial, I like best the
P with the lovely blue dial and the pushers on 5070 with lemania movement are so smooth like hot knife cutting through butter !
