Which do you prefer or would be your daily? Which would be a good 3rd piece to add to the collection?

but the Aquanaut would be more of a daily for me.  A third piece (assuming Patek) might be a Calatrava of some sort.

A dressier model.  Sure but this combo hits 99% of any dreamers collection.

First of all, these are amazing. Congrats. And between them you have 90% of everyday use cases covered from casual hanging around to suit-and-tie meetings.

So from a practical standpoint, a hat’s missing?

Put it this way: do you ever feel like you should wear something super dressy from time to time? Or is it more shorts and a t-shirt?

If leaning towards the first (“I keep going to events where ‘tuxedo’ or ‘dinner jacket’ is requested”) , then how about a Golden Ellipse? Or something else dressy and exquisite outside the PP stable - say, a Piaget Andy Warhol, as they now call it (white gold and blue dial would fit nicely and has a slight echo of the shape of the Nautilus and Aquanaut).

If more towards the second, you’ll probably want something you can chuck about, maybe not a PP but perhaps something in ceramic (watch for hard knocks tho) or carbon fibre, perhaps a dive watch of some sort.

There’s also a third direction: you just want something new and different. in which case perhaps some other complication is called for rather than a simple time-only watch.

collection you certainly picked 2 good examples!!

I own both exact pieces, but I never thought about them as a perfect 2-watch collection. But now that you mention, they are two great daily wearers, with the Aquanaut giving you that extra sportiness, perfect for traveling and vacations.

As s third piece, I spotless either go dressier or sportier, depending on your lifestyle or needs.

I would initially look at the dressier side, you have many options in the catalogue: Worldtimers, Annual Calendars, Chronogaphs... in any precious metal of your preference. Maybe you can add some color with yellow or rose gold.

Which is indeed very different to yours... but to me it all depends on the intended use.

Patek only provides the black or brown for the 5164A

The 5712 looks good with a suit - its slim profile makes it look fairly elegant.  

1) it’s the next successor to the nautilus & aquanaut, like it or not
2) the nautilus & aquanaut were also received poorly when they first came out
3) therefore I believe it will see appreciation and success under the Patek name, especially in smaller sizes
