I looove that tropical. If I had come across that I could have bought it on the spot.
It’s so rare we see this watch. I still have and enjoy mine. To me it’s one of those very rare overlooked watches these days. I’m glad you included the last picture of the movement because this one is actually extremely interesting. We all know how rarely PP put out a completely new automatic movement. This is not something PP take lightly. In this case this watch was thought of as logical evolution of an automatic movement that rarely had to be wound or set and therefore the crown was moved to the back. This created the problem with the crown stem colliding with the rotor so if you see the picture the rotor is placed on a kind of “mono rail” on the perimeter of the movement. All very 70´ties futuristic, logical and very modern. Perhaps even more so than the 3700. Speaking of which, it wears in a very similar way. It sits very flat and elegant and it is not too small compared to the Ellipse.
If I may emphasize one more thing it would be the 2-piece case with the lovely integrated bezel. I find it extremely elegant and sculptural city it’s thin brim holding the crystal. A feast for the eyes.
You do a wonderful job here Emmanuel. We are so lucky that you have joined our family here. Thank you for an other great post!
