...as I am a big fan of hobnail bezels and the ref. 5050 retrograde PC.
A couple of things. It is fairly thick for such a dressy, elegant watch. Also the movement is a bit small. They try to 'hide' it with the hobnail on the back of the case. As a result of the movement, the moon phase opening is just a tad higher up on the dial than it could be.
I'd also prefer the hands to be sharply pointed, but it seems Patek has switched over the these 'softer' pointed hands. Las, the Patek logo and 'Geneve' are too big. With the arc of the date and the leap year cutout, there's already a lot going on in this area.
If I had the cash I'd probably still get one, only because it is compelling as an overall package...
