I hadn’t seen this one yet. And I really love seeing that the owner in the first photo has worn it regularly (thank gosh someone’s wearing the heck out of these things).

I love how thought has gone into integrating the case with the artwork (I’m not sure if it’s intentional, but I’d like to think it is).
The artwork depicts a couple of old time astronomers sitting on what is is likely the moon; one is gazing back at earth through a telescope, while the other two, sitting in front of a sea of stars, are presumably contemplating our place in the world. Next to them is a lunar module that appears to have crashed landed on the moon.
The scene is then encapsulated by the bezel, which looks like it could be the glass porthole of the lunar module. This ties the artwork perfectly with us, the viewer, who is looking at the scene as a whole. It makes us feel we are the fourth astronomer sitting in another lunar module, watching our peers hard at work.

I like them for the craft, but…
…to me I’ve rarely seen anything with a more contemporary feel.
There are some exceptions, but buyers of these pieces are generally of a certain taste and knowing this Patek obviously cater to the known knowns.
I do wonder if they’d step out of that safety zone a bit whether or not another buyer market would exist. Not something Thierry will do I think.
Some pieces with very modern or contemporary dials have been made (surfers, etc.).
And I'm not always fond of them, contrarily to this one, which I find appealing.

Hi Emmanuel, this is a lovely piece and the color patterns are great !
Look at how the brown of the instrument matches well with the different shades of green in the shirt, building and leaves !
