My dear friend, I have made some research because I find this watch fits so perfectly to your style.

What I’ve always found fascinating about the 5235 is how different it is within the „Patek universe“.

Now I have learned that it actually was the first time (!) Patek built a completely new movement specifically for a non-grand complication piece.

The calibre 31-260 REG QA was designed from scratch, with „high tech features“ like Spiromax, Gyromax or Pulsomax.

This is quite unusual for a watch in this segment. And that’s exactly why it stands out.

but we found a truly paradisiacal place and ended up not continuing our journey. Instead, we’ve been doing day trips from here. Verona once, Milan once, and today Asolo. And then we’ll head back.



The Daytona - a highly cherished watch in my collection, yet still just one love among many - is something I’ve truly come to appreciate now. It’s outstanding.

Beyond its looks and wearing comfort, what really stands out is its remarkable reliability: +1 second over 8 days! Then I left it crown down overnight, and today we’re back to +/- 0.00 seconds… 🙏

Nico is right when he says that you sometimes need to wear a watch for at least one to two weeks to truly appreciate its qualities.
