The 5712/1A-001 is so thin that I don't need to shake my dress cuff over the watch. 8.52mm case thickness is a wonderful advantage with various cuff designs.

These sterling silver cufflinks were bought at auction (vintage) in the equestrian-crazy town of Saratoga Springs, New York. The artwork shows a horse and rider in the woods and on the back is stamped "Fox Hunt". Love them! $35 USD won them!

Like another employee in my building who collects ID/security badges all day long through a glass screen. He has become a watch enthusiast and can identify watches on the hundreds of men's wrists he deals with every day. He recognized my Nautilus the first day I handed him my ID. Only 1/4 of it was showing under my cuff and he took me by surprise saying "Nice piece!" Since that day for over a year everytime we see eachother we love talking watches, in the hallway, on the sidewalk, in the parking lot, etc. He's a true enthusiast and loves watches of all levels and quality. Great guy.

It’s not a watch I wear every day because A., I’m too afraid to scuff it up completely and B, it’s become so recognizable that one has to be careful. But I do love it. I fall in love with it over and over again every time I put it on.

but as horrible luck would have it, my 5712 always finds door jambs and other sharp edges. Oh well!

I certainly have to step up my attire when my wife suggests it's time to go to church! LOL If she doesn't like what I'm putting on, she'll go into my closet look my wardrobe over and say "Perhaps you'd be more comfortable in this suit."

Along with smart looking tailored clothing.

It took me 8 long, painful years to get this Patek. When I wear it I will respect it! LOL

I was in London earlier, walking along Saville Row and Jermyn Street, but only window shopping apart from picking up some laces for some cordovan boots from Crockett & Jones.

I went 'low rent' with London suit maker by going with an off-off Saville Row house called Redmayne. Off topic but hopefully we don't get in trouble!

I would get more use out of a blazer/sports jacket so that might be an option. But as much as I admire the tailoring, I would rather spend the money on watches!

A Huntsman suit will cost $8k, I'd go out of my way to try to use it but perhaps only wear it 10 times per year... and that is ACTIVELY trying to use it. The Huntsman suit will eventually fall from favor in my rotation, no one in my family would want it (regardless of classic cut and color) and it will collect dust in an upstairs closet with my old military uniforms. Instead if I saved up and bought a simple Calatrava - now that is easy to wear for the rest of my life, and in a best case scenario: the rest of my wife's life, and the rest of our girl's lives. Then the rest of their children's lives, and so on.

As much as I have the desire to try the experience of going on the Row I think the idea of it is nicer than what i would get out of it in the life I’m living. I am fascinated by that universe though and. I love to read about it and learn about the history of bespoke tailoring and men’s style. It’s highly entertaining with many lovely anecdotes and quirky characters which is something I love.
