A favorite of mine as well.
The 5100P and 5100R are in fact among the relatively few modern Patek designs that catch my eye. It would be hard for me to choose between the platinum and the rose gold, but I wouldn't mind owning one of the two someday.

Proper movement, nice gold bits for the jewels, etc. But that was back in 2000. It was not as easy (as it is today) selling mechanical timepieces. Companies really had to amp up.... you personally knew the local store folks, locally-owned of course. Ah well, those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end.
