I own multiple Patek's, 2 of which (5085 & 5036) I keep on Orbita Bellino winders. For whatever reason, they always lose time while on the winders which, by the way, are calibrated properly. Should I wear one continously for a week, it runs with precision.
I know what the common response will be ... wear them! However, God only blessed me with 2 wrists yet cursed me with an amazing appetite for wrist watches!
Is it common for Pateks not to "behave" while being placed on a winder at length?
Thanks for the feed back.
I,too, very much like my 5085. My 2 negatives are 1) the "mesh" style bracelet that is a bit too intricate, and 2) the dark blue back ground of the moon indicator is a bit difficult to view in contrast to the black dial.
I inherited it from my father who passed away in January of 2007. Unfortunately, he never wore it - not even once - after I purchased it for him from the AD in Venice, Italy (when the dollar was strong vs. Euro!) I remember my father telling me stories of buying Pateks in Zurich during the 1950's for around US$125.00. He was apprehensive about buying a complication because he had no idea where to have it serviced in the US should it require it. If only I knew then what I know now!!
