The proportions are perfect, the dial with these Breguet numbers, and the two silver tones is just sublime, as well as the delicate hands.
A solid case back?
Not a big deal, to me, as the movement is small, and not that spectacular to be seen.
I own it for more than 3 years, now, and I'm still strongly in love with it.
Now, if I has to choose only one PP, I would prefer the WT, 5130 or 5110.
But I'm completely sold to the WT!
Best, my friend.

PS: Is is already too late?
I mean, do you already own it?
Is there nothing else from at least VC or AP to compete with this watch with regard to functions, beauty, relative size and movement finish?
I am not sure if PinkPanther is asking for comparison to the 5196P's competition or not, but within the Patek family, if I were considering the 5196P, I would pay a bit more (perhaps more than "bit") for the 5098P, which to me, while not a Calatrava, is the most beautiful "simple" Patek. I think the Chronometro Gondolo is perhaps not so close to the Patek DNA as the 5196P or indeed any of the Calatravas are, and perhaps that is one of the reasons I am drawn to it.
Patrick, I admire your succinct comments on the virtues of the 5196P, particularly the reason for the lack of a caseback display. That is one of the attributes I like most about the pre-15202 AP Royal Oak Jumbos, in which case there is a movement very worth seeing.
Bottom line, the 5196P is a lovely simple Calatrava.

I looked at purchasing this wach a couple of years ago.
I like the general look of the watch, but the position of the sub dial really erks me.
I did go and look at one in person and found it was a little thin for my liking.
Although I would prefer a full size sweep second hand. And to have a power reserve would be just the icing on the cake.
Saying all of that I hope soon to join the ownership ranks of a 5196.
Lange 1815 pt. I know which one I'll take.
cheers
