Caliber 1142
Of all the interpretations of the Lemania 2310, this particular one, caliber 1142, is my personal favorite.
One thing that's rarely mentioned is that this hand-wound caliber provides an extraordinary tactile sensation when you wind it. The best I've experienced so far: smooth yet really clicky.

There are so many different variations on the 2310 and I have always wondered which of these has the finest finishing. After looking at images online it seems to me it’s either the 1142 or Patek’s 27-70.
In fairness the 1142 image is a render. This is a good picture I found on Hodinkee. Together with another picture of the 27-70Q as used in the 5970. Maybe it’s the picture but this seems to have slightly better finishing than in the 5070.
Both are great, no doubt about it.
The Maltese cross column wheel makes a difference for me: I like it better than the capped one of the 27-70.
Also, I find the shape of the Y chrono bridge and of the cock for the escapement more refined in the 1142.

I addition - it looks to me like the 1142 has 5 internally bevelled angles (2 relatively acute on the y-shaped intermediate bridge) whereas the 27-70 has 4 (2 relatively acute - one on the y-shaped intermediate bridge and one on the closest to
the escapement.
The 1142 has been completely built and conceived inhouse based on the Lemania caliber that VC purchased initially. I dare think that the inner angles on the VC are more regular and precise
as the caliber has newly been reengineered and manufactured compared to the Patek 27-70 caliber which was also a reengineered Lemania version but an older one.
By looking at multiple pictures of the 27-70 in 5070 and 5970 models, I always have the impression that the execution quality of the inner angles varies hugely. Some are round and not sharp and I could still not find a pattern how the better finished versions were distributed as one can find them in both Patek models.

Here is a Breguet ref. 3237, cal 533 which is derived from the 2310 and looks more like the 1142 than the 27-70

and upped the vph from 18000 -2.5hz to 21600-3hz
i find on my 5000t with QP it takes 116 thumb and index finger turns of the crown from zero.

Yes, absolutely, 3Hz instead of 2.5Hz (the Patek 27-70 remained at 2.5 Hz).

I think the movement needs 45 turns to be fully wound. And each morning I give it around 10 turns.
