Farewell to Belfast

Enjoying a last cup of coffee before heading to the airport for a day of flights.

The first generation Toric Automatic has been my companion for the trip. It's an elegant watch yet doesn't attract unwanted attention . . . just how I like it.

Hoping for an uneventful day.

My favorite aspect of the Toric of this era

Is the circular engine-turned decoration at the back, around the sapphire.

The decoration is such a good way of marking different tiers of a watch; so tier-ry I wonder why Patek didn't use any decoration at the back of the 5070 (self-indulgent pun intended, wahaha)

You are correct, Chk. The backside is "private luxury," for the owner to admire but not flash to the world.

The watch is nice to look at but it’s still 7+ hours to cross the Atlantic. At least everything came off today like clockwork.

True it’s not a known quantity but photo shoots in public likely draw it some attention 😂
