I personally much prefer the no date Classic and Classic Origin lines, all the more since I've never been very fond of the bevelled Sport Auto date window, nor of the font of the date (just my personal taste of course).
I also find the simplified shapes (balance cock and bottom bridge) of the Sport Auto micro rotor caliber (LF270.01) far less attractive than the ones of the regular Classic micro rotor caliber (FBN229.01).

Yes, nice, but I personally prefer the regular Classic and Classic Origin no date design.
Very pretty watch, but: no natural escapement and slightly less impressive finishing than on the 229.01. I prefer the original microrotor, or even the manual Origin. Cleaner and no shortcuts.
I will take a look at the watch in Geneva this weekend. Let’s see what in-person impressions are like.

But as for all LF I don't understand that a watch with a micro-rotor has such a thickness. It appears to me a little bit absurd. And shortcuts on a watch that costs 50000 CHF excl. taxes. That appears to me totally absurd.😆
Concerning the thickness, I've asked myself the same question and
I came to this conclusion: one of the beauties of this micro rotor caliber is its depth and that means less thinness; plus, I think that LF wanted to give the case a vintage look, with a domed crystal (not flat), rounded case and onion crown, so that thinness was clearly not a priority. And I must say that, on my wrist, I like the (very reasonable) 11.10mm thickness.

I think it is to have depth. And I think it is to have plates thick enough to be able to perform these rounded bevels that perhaps wouldn't be possible on a thinner movement. A manual Voutilainen for exemple is quite thick too.
This design seems to draw extra attention to the date window with that little slide down to it.
What an odd/interesting/curious design choice.
L F chose to overemphasize the date window for some strange reason it looks awkward to me.

Seems odd to remove it. There aren’t many watches on the market with one. But I guess not many people are escapement nerds lol
The alleged reason is that the Swiss lever escapement is more shock-resistant so
more appropriate for a “sport” or sporty line (but this Classic Sport Auto is of course much more classic than sporty).
