... persists and is exacerbated by brands from time to time. Apple isn't the only brand to use "deployment." I know I saw it a few years ago with a different brand, but I can't recall which one.
The word deployant doesn't exist in English and the proper spelling of the word in its native French would be déployante. It seems the closest word in English would be deployment. Of course this may not really be the reason but it's the best I can come up with!
While I appreciate Clymer's intention of educating aspiring watch collectors about the proper dos and don'ts, I'm so accustomed to hearing deployant/deployment that it doesn't phase me at all.
