Horological Meandering

Hello all,

Just received the Grand Seiko SBGR037 this week, and took a quick wrist shot which captures the dial and hands - thought I'd share

i really like Grand Seiko's, but i have to say that this dial is certainly not my favourite. it smacks a bit of 'rolexrolexrolex', but the watch is finished better

i'm considering a manual wind model if can get one, either the 001 or 005, if a friend of mine and very shy newbie buys my 009 GMT. i have 2 vintage manual winds and have owned 2 vintage auto's. i prefer the simplicity of the manuals, the plain elegance of the dials etc.

congratulations on your new purchase and can we have more pics as the logo might not stand out as much in normal conditions.

Thanks for your thoughts: I was a little nervous about the dial, but when wearing it is difficult to see the logo really stand out as I captured in the photo.  The eye/brain combination tends to see just "texture", rather than a swathe of GS logos.

I also have the SBGW001 - I spent far too long in the shop choosing between it and the SBGW005.  I ended up with the SBGW001 because the dial colour is exceptionally subtle - more so than that on the SBGW005.  Though I do like the blued second hand on the '005....who knows - one day perhaps I might get one to join my Grand Seikos

The pic of this Grand Seiko that make me do a search for it.
I love the textured dial and blue hands.
Somehow I am yearning for this one..... a charismatic timepiece.
I would be smiling ear to ear if I have one on my wrist.
