A Mercedes themed Audemars Piguet
Has anyone seen this watch before?

It's a 33.5 mm automatic watch from the 1990's with a skeletonised dial, which depicts a 1930’s Mercedes Benz 500K Roadster vehicle against the background of a castle and mountains.
Not my personal type of watch, but so unusual...

I admit at great risk...
I admit, I might take a Mercedes 540K, 500K, Maybach Zeppelin DS8, or a Rolls Royce Phantom II (or III) over this watch - if anyone were to force me to make a choice. I say that I'm taking a risk here because this is a watch forum, and to take any car over such a nice watch might be blasphemous! Of course, Amanico has already admitted he feels the same way, so I feel a little safer to admit this!
I’ve seen a picture of this piece before, but I didn’t understand its inspiration.
Was this a piece unique for a car owner, or perhaps commemorating an event.🤔

I saw these in yellow gold with a Vintage Ferrari Racer and other types when I visited AP, they are of their time, appeal to a person of such taste post war driving a sports car of the Era with this on the wrist, fits in with their vibe 😊👍

Each piece is special and unique, though tastes have changed to their owners these were coveted.
May I make a suggestion, one of the most special pieces ever made were the ones from the Cabinet series, each piece more special than the other, what made them even more special was a beautiful piece of furniture, a large cabinet, for collectors to house one from each reference, I believe it has never been shown online as far as I know, I am so impressed with your knowledge and research capabilities I was wondering if you would accept this challenge 😊

In fact, I don't really warm up to these pieces!
I'm not enough "car-driven" 😅
But I think I like the fully skeletonized a little better than the others with the visible main plate.

I like these kind of artistic watches but the only downside for me is that this series is rather small for my taste
