Since I've been focusing on
Minute Repeaters yesterday (Patek's
7047G and Gérald Genta's ref.
EBFE01A1), here's
another one from
Audemars Piguet, which I like a lot.
This is the Jules Audemars “Répétition Minutes Heures Sautantes” (Jumping Hours Minute Repeater) in rose gold, ref. 26151OR.OO.D002CR.02.

The
silver satin-brushed chapter ring with
applied Arabic numerals features a
guilloché center.

The
large applied minute
numerals give the dial an “
Air-King”-
esque,
navigational,
vibe, which
contrasts nicely with the
guilloché center and overall
classic design.

The case measures
43 x
12 mm.

I love the
welded lugs and
rounded case
flank.

And AP's
caliber 2907 is absolutely
wonderful: I mean look at this
architecture, these
sharp angles, this
finishing!

The
watch was also made in
platinum, ref. 26151PT.OO.D028CR.02, and I know
some of
you will
like this metal
better.

But
personally, I find the
rose gold version
much more
attractive, as
platinum gives the watch a
cold look.
Rose gold maintains a much more
interesting ambiguity between
classicism and the more
modern touch coming from the
applied numerals.
