But...
The problem for me is that a "better" watch in my eyes exists. The Vacheron Constantin equivalent is fairly and similarly priced, similar quality, and features a much larger tourbillon in terms of diameter. Furthermore, that VC tourbillon movement is just a better movement. The slower 18,000 vph beat on the VC is more pleasing to the eye (something a static photo can't convey) than the Chopard's frantic 25,500 vph, the movement also features a winding mechanism that doesn't block the view of the tourbillon by means of a peripheral rotor. The VC tourbillon cage is very impressive as it incorporates the Maltese Cross and thus more light catching angles. Don't get me wrong, this Chopard is impressive and it's even slightly thinner and more discreet than the VC equivalent. And the Chopard is technically a flying tourbillon, thus no bridge on the top (significantly harder to make this and stabilize the movement this way).
We are definitely hoping to be able to offer more coverage of Chopard in the future! It's definitely a high horology player! I for one have asked (I was begging with dignity) KFS to make a simple time only (possibly with date) Alpine Eagle with the LUC 1.96 movement. Karl Freidrich Scheufele, who has hosted me and other WPS members in his personal home for dinner, and one of the most elegant men in the entire watch and jewelry business, couldn't confirm if my desires would be fulfilled. All I can do is cross my fingers for now!
