I really like and admire most LUC Chopard watches.

For me of the three the one in the centre is my favourite as I am really attracted to grey dialled watches and if I'm being honest although it is technically brilliant my least favourite is the sapphire version as it just does not have the same appeal for me and I think the dial looks messy.
And the weight is probably nicer than platinum for such a watch, which isn’t small. Also, I’ve had the chance to handle the carburised steel variant and it’s really nice in real life.
But I have heard from knowledgeable collectors that the platinum sounds the best. Which would be very surprising for a traditional repeater but here the sound comes from the crystal and somehow the higher density helps.
The sound quality is very good; great speed/pace/tempo, good tonality, and relatively high volume; all desirable attributes. But somehow, I just don't like the design. The titanium JLC Master Minute Repeater with skeleton dial looks more attractive in my eyes. I also have a preference for slide powered minute repeaters over button powered minute repeaters; as a button powered one requires a separate mainspring to power it.
The button activation is much more complex and requires winding of the crown (backwards usually) when the sliding trigger is self powered (by the motion of sliding the trigger itself).
