Agree with the other comment that the size will not make all potential wearers equally happy but it does wear relatively well (for me it fits better than the regular Speedy) 👍🏻

The positioning of the sub-dials also reveals the (too) small movement for this case size.

I loved this piece when first introduced, SO cool, but a little too big. I never noticed the rocket…I love it!

With a new movement too? I am far from an Omega expert, but I flirted with the original version and it did not have the rocket hand. While it is cool, I'm afraid I have to agree with the "trying too hard" sentiment.
The following comment in other forum succinctly states the obvious.
The last real limited numbered release was the Tokyo 2020 Speedmaster in 2018. Since then we've had the limited production Snoopy and the small 321 line which were refreshing but hard to get, but other than that it's been a wasteland for Speedmaster fans. Omega is going for the new, never owned an Omega demographic customer.
When all is said and done and the smoke clears, the takeaway . . .
. . . should be these Apollo 8 ceramics are an offshoot of the Professional, not a direct lineal descendant. They're different enough to be judged on their own merits (or lack thereof, depending on your point of view) instead of direct comparison with the icon.
I wouldn't be a potential owner, but then I'm too old and conservative to venture into new territory. For a younger person with no memory of the legend, it's another story.

So, only find time now, to briefly share my thoughts:
- I have a small wrist, hence the watch is too big for me
- the difference to the MK1 version is too small
- legibility of hours and minutes is poor
- sub-dials geometry is somehow „strange“
- the price increase is steep
- but: the Saturn rocket is cool!

The DSOM was criticized by many for poor legibility. Omega should have sorted this out!
Aside from Speedmaster 57 and 321, I am really disappointed at Omega’s “toyish” designs.👎
As an owner of the first Apollo 8, I agree the biggest issue is the legibility. Different color hour and minute hands that stand out more from the dial would really help.
Too big for me. And the seconds hand in shape of a rocket is too much for my taste (I'm a bit conservative). But I like the moon surface on the movement front and back. And - as I understand - a substantial price increase.
This is soooo gimmicky...
...like Blancpain using a propeller for a rotor. I really dislike this kind of design.
Definitely a pass for me. Never was a fan of the yellow accents but just looks like they threw a rocket on it and jacked up the price 3 k . Was hoping or would have the new spirate movement like the speedy racing.
In defense of Omega…
It is now in retail price parity with competing watches like the IWC Lake Tahoe, Mojave desert, etc… all of which lack the attention to detail on the movement finishing and fine polishing of the ceramic cases.

In fact the positive comments I see here is the exact reason Omega can release the same watch and raise the price. Of course you are free to think what you want but my opinion is this is pure crud!!

Find it too busy and too much happening . Omega over did it I guess ..& price point is ridiculous
