I finally had a chance to try on the land dweller in Monaco…
It’s beautiful. The bracelet is great. I love the etching on the dial. The size and fit are great. I really like the sharp angles on the case with integrated bracelet.
But I felt like something is missing. I can’t put my finger on it. But the watch didn’t move me like other Rolex watches (and I love Rolex). May be I need more time…

In my very personal opinion, something is missing because the watch still gives off Datejust-vibes due to the fluted bezel and I never really fell in love with the Datejust
Perhaps a smooth bezel as on the Oysterquartz models of yesteryear and baton indices could help… The bracelet definitely looks impressive. What I’m not too fond of is that the lateral case profile isn’t as angular as it perhaps should be.
Overall, the design is certainly well done and I am sure we will see further dial and bezel iterations that will bring something for everyone.

I just don’t like the dial with the seed drills or whatever they are. Otherwise I’d be after one in 36mm.
I really wanted to like this watch
As I find the movement interesting and on paperI like elements of it. But the overall piece feels very cold. It didn’t wake any emotions in me.
I think there will be a ton of dial variations to come as there are for the Datejust...

Is the next watch on my list. I love the movement tech and how thin it is. I know the dial is controversial but I applaud them for doing something different than what they usually do, often being conservative to a fault.

I can’t get with the integrated watch/bracelet thing…and find watch sites annoying (not this one or anyone here) pushing the integrated/compact/perfect sized/etc thing on me. I feel like this is part of that movement. Maybe I am getting older and cranky, but, have a hard time listening to nitwits who are now watch “journalists” telling me about the history of watches and what is perfect, how great the integrated bracelet is…how perfect 38mm is for everyone…how I should be looking at smaller watches…etc, because at the end of the day they are mostly useless “content” specialists, which means they are jack (offs) of all trades and masters of none…😂 Can I say that here? In any event, I am sure this is a great watch for some…but, I look at pretty much any older or newer Rolex and just say it ain’t for me.
One minute they are telling me what watch to wear, next week what TV to buy. Sorry to vent in your thread, but, Rolex succeeded, they evoked an emotional response!
I think it’s watch dependent. I love my 5712 and my Rolexes.
But some watches look better on a strap.
Not my taste. A kind of mix up of different design elements which doesn't sing to me at all.
