Back then collectors use to research, study, test, share experiences and wear their prized watches, not just wrist shots, flex and back in the safe or trade for the next shiny thing!
I remember when collectors like you and some here used to write essays about a referee with true good and critical opinions so that others would know what to expect…

Nice. I always loved the Rolex Prince although they discontinued them in 2015...
Not that popular I guess.

I started in watches in the early 80’s. Those
days you could find pieces like this very minty
on occasion, sometimes with the box. To find
one like yours all original these days is rare. Early
Rolexes were my main interest. The only one I
have left is a hooded bubbleback from the 40’s.
That’s not early like the 20’s and 30’s but from the
50’s on the design language changed. Here’s a picture
