Rolex's website states that more announcements (likely more new models) are coming on 12-May-2026!
Seems like Rolex heard the industry's surprise of a somewhat underwhelming launch - considering it is a 100 year anniversary of the Oyster - and are now promising a second punch of announcements! Will this second punch hit the sweet spot? Will it be a Knock Out? Let's hope Rolex can knock it out of the park!

The focus is likely to be more on Oyster than 1908 - since the 100 year anniversary is related to the Oyster. The 1908 is not considered part of the "Oyster" line. I like how you think! Sometimes they need to do something different! Maybe they will for such an important milestone year!

Maybe they will then adjust the price of the new steel Daytona to a more realistic amount instead of the exorbitant 55k

The new one has Platinum! Platinum platinum platinum! But, just a small amount of it.
Platinum is the move all the brands are going to be making soon. It's cheaper than gold. And the brands can charge a lot for platinum!
